Steve Long is the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Commercial Segment within Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group (IDG). He leads a global organization of business leaders, engineers, and sales and marketing professionals focused on delivering innovative commercial computing products and services. His responsibilities span Lenovo’s worldwide PC, tablet, and workstation portfolio, along with software and solutions across commercial XR, cybersecurity, education, smart collaboration, IoT, and more.
Steve is accountable for the segment’s over $16B P&L and oversees its full operations — from day-to-day management to long-range planning and innovation cycles. He ensures that commercial customer feedback and user insights remain at the core of Lenovo’s strategy. Under his leadership, global teams collaborate to define product roadmaps and business strategies that deliver measurable outcomes for customers.
Before joining Lenovo, Steve spent nearly 24 years at Intel in a variety of senior leadership roles. He served as Corporate Vice President for both the Asia Pacific & Japan region and Intel’s largest business unit, the Client Compute Group Global Sales and Marketing. He also led multiple businesses across the Americas during his tenure.
A seasoned global executive, Steve has lived, worked, and studied across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and conversational in French.
Steve holds a B.A. in International Studies from Tulane University and an MBA from Texas A&M University. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and has pursued post-graduate executive education at Wharton, Stanford, and the University of Virginia.
He has three children, two dogs and resides in North Carolina with his wife.
